Every single parent knows very well how speedy the little ones can be when it comes to making a huge mess. It doesn’t necessarily involve making stains or spreading dirt around – it’s mainly about creating clutter in every possible spot around the house, but especially their room.

With a reliable deep cleaning service available in New Orleans, LA, you can ensure that the entire home, including your kid’s room is always spick and span. However, if you’d like to discover a quick routine for a thorough clean up of the children’s room, keep reading.

How do I deep clean my kid’s room?

Tackling this minefield can sometimes make you feel demotivated or overwhelmed, but having some easy tips at hand will help you do it in a quick and simple way. Check them out:

Prepare yourself

Get yourself in the right mood. Put on some great music and comfy clothes. You’ll feel much better and relaxed wearing something that allows you to move freely such as gym clothes or some baggy jeans. Speaking of the gym, here’s a fun fact for you to boost your motivation – a 2 hour cleaning spree will help you burn about 200 calories.

Gather supplies

Take everything you’ll need and put it in one place so you won’t have to run back and forth once you start. Here’s a list of the necessary items:

  • Trash bag
  • Microfiber cloths
  • Glass cleaner – preferably a green one
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Fresh sheets
  • A couple of containers

Pick up the trash

Grab your trash bag, go around the room and pick up food wrappers, paper tissues, and any other pieces of garbage you may find. Make sure to check under the bed since a lot of stuff accumulates there.

Pick up clutter

Now it’s time to put all those toys and clean clothes back in their place. Take one of the containers and toss in any dirty clothing and toys. Use the other container for items that belong in other rooms. When you’re done, just put the containers aside so you can deal with them later.

Tackle the windows and dust

Use a damp microfiber cloth and start dusting from the uppermost parts of the room such as light fixtures and ceiling fans, then work your way down making sure you don’t forget surfaces such as blinds, window sills and baseboards.

Next, use another clean cloth and your glass product to get your windows and mirrors streak‐free.

Change sheets

Take off the linens and put them together with the dirty clothes. Vacuum the mattress, flip it over, and vacuum the other side. Put on the fresh linens and make the bed.

Deal with the floor

Vacuum the entire floor, making sure you reach under the bed and any other furniture in the room. Dilute your favorite disinfectant and mop the non‐carpeted areas.

Finish off

That’s it – the cleaning part is over and all that’s left to do is distribute the items from the caddies, take out the trash, and put your tools away. Your kid’s room is now fresh and hygienic.
